Product Overview

The AcuRite Carabiner Flashlight is a compact and portable lighting solution designed for convenience. This manual applies to models 08551W, 08552W, and 08553W. Please note that this device is intended for illumination purposes only and is not designed for load-bearing activities. It should never be used for climbing or as a safety device.

Getting Started

To ensure the flashlight functions correctly upon arrival, it is shipped with a plastic safety insert inside the battery compartment to conserve energy. Before first use, twist the flashlight cap counter-clockwise to open the assembly. Remove the small plastic disc covering the battery sleeve. Once removed, replace the cap by twisting it clockwise, being careful not to over-tighten the assembly.

Instructions for Use

Operating the flashlight is simple and intuitive. To turn the light on, twist the cap clockwise until the light illuminates. To turn the light off, twist the cap counter-clockwise until the light shuts off completely. Always ensure the cap is securely tightened to maintain contact but avoid excessive force that could damage the threads.

Battery Replacement

When the light dims, replace the batteries following these steps:

• Open the flashlight by twisting the cap counter-clockwise.
• Remove the plastic sleeve containing the four LR 41 button cell batteries.
• Carefully remove the old batteries from the sleeve, noting their orientation.
• Insert four new LR 41 batteries into the sleeve, ensuring the negative side is facing up.
• Place the sleeve back into the flashlight with the positive side facing down and the negative terminal facing up.
• Replace the cap by twisting it clockwise, ensuring it is not over-tightened.

Safety and Maintenance

This product contains button-cell batteries which pose a severe risk if swallowed. Keep out of reach of children and seek medical attention immediately if ingestion is suspected. Follow all local laws regarding battery disposal. Do not incinerate, mix old and new batteries, or use rechargeable batteries. Always dispose of batteries as hazardous waste. Keep the device clean and dry to ensure longevity. If the flashlight will not be used for an extended period, consider removing the batteries to prevent potential leakage or corrosion.
