Product Overview
The ADC 1700DD Quartz is a precision-engineered, semi-automatic turntable featuring a high-torque direct drive motor with a Quartz phase-locked loop (PLL) servo-circuit for superior speed accuracy. It is equipped with a low-mass, straight tonearm that is statically balanced and features a carbon fiber molded cartridge head for optimal performance.
Setup and Assembly
- Turntable Assembly: Carefully place the turntable on the motor shaft and install the rubber mat.
- Cartridge Mounting: Align the cartridge using the provided guide lines, ensuring the stylus tip is approximately 10mm from the center of the shell. Connect the lead wires according to the color-coded terminals (White: LS, Blue: LG, Red: RS, Green: RG).
- Tonearm Balancing: With the anti-skate dial set to 0 and the stylus guard removed, rotate the counterweight until the tonearm is balanced parallel to the platter. Once balanced, set the stylus pressure dial to 0 and rotate the entire counterweight assembly to the manufacturer-recommended tracking force.
Operation
To play a record, release the tonearm locking clip and move the cueing lever to the rear. Position the tonearm over the desired track and move the cueing lever forward to lower the stylus gently onto the record. The 33-OFF-45 control knob allows for speed selection. The Quartz lock button ensures precise speed stability at 33 1/3 or 45 RPM, while the pitch control allows for a 6% speed variation when the Quartz lock is disengaged.
Maintenance and Safety
The turntable is supported by an isolated suspension system. When moving the unit, always lift it off the surface and lower it carefully to ensure all four mounting feet rest evenly. To avoid hum, keep the turntable away from power transformers and other electronic equipment that may radiate interference. Ensure the green ground wire is connected to the amplifier's ground terminal.
