Quick guide from the manual
This document provides instructions for connecting AiM data logging devices to the Honda CBR 1000RR-R HRC (2024 model) ECU. It covers the specific wiring requirements, connector identification, and software configuration needed to access the vehicle's data stream.
Wiring connection
The bike features a specific protocol based on CAN, accessible through a dedicated Yazaki Sogyo female connector labeled LOGGER. This connector is provided by the HRC harness and is reserved for data logging. Do not confuse it with the red diagnostic connector found on standard bikes.

Refer to the following pinout for the Yazaki Sogyo connector (Model number: 7283-2764-30):
- LightBlue: CAN High (AiM cable: CAN+, White)
- Brown: CAN Low (AiM cable: CAN-, Blue)
- Black/white: Ignition 12V (AiM cable: Ignition, Red)
- Green: Ground (AiM cable: GND, Black)
RaceStudio 3 configuration
Before connecting the AiM device to the ECU, you must configure the software settings:
- ECU manufacturer: HONDA
- ECU Model: CBR HRC 2024 ECU (Only RS3)
Available data channels
Once configured, the AiM device can receive various data channels from the ECU, including:
- Engine RPM and Gear Position
- Vehicle Speed (Estimated, Front, and Rear)
- Coolant and Intake Air Temperature
- MAP sensor values for cylinders 1-4
- Throttle position sensors (TPS)
- Traction control, Wheelie mode, and Engine braking mode data
- Various external inputs and Lambda A/F values
Technical note: Not all data channels outlined in the ECU template are validated for every manufacturer's model or variant. Some channels are model and year specific and may not be applicable.
Practical help
Common problems
Ensure you are using the specific HRC harness 'LOGGER' connector. Do not confuse it with the red diagnostic connector found on standard bikes.
Verify the ECU configuration in RaceStudio 3 is set to 'HONDA' and 'CBR HRC 2024 ECU'.
Before use
- Identify the 'LOGGER' connector on the HRC harness.
- Verify the pinout matches the Yazaki Sogyo connector (7283-2764-30).
- Install AiM RaceStudio 3 software.
- Ensure the ECU protocol is correctly selected in the software.
Specs in practice
- CAN High/Low
- Data transmission lines for the ECU protocol.
- Ignition 12V
- Power supply for the AiM device.
Images and diagrams
- The wiring diagram shows the Yazaki Sogyo connector pin assignment (View Y) and the physical connector model number.
Model compatibility
- Compatible with Honda CBR 1000RR-R HRC models from 2024 onwards.
- Not all data channels are validated for every variant; some are model/year specific.
