To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your AMP MASS 1000 12D2 V2 subwoofer, follow these essential guidelines:

- Amplifier Matching: Select an amplifier with an RMS power rating 1.5 to 2 times the rated power of the subwoofer to ensure clean, undistorted signal delivery.
- Break-in Period: Warm up the subwoofer by playing musical material at medium power for 50 hours.
- Recommended Settings:
- Head unit volume: Do not exceed 80%.
- Amplifier Gain: Set to 50%.
- Subsonic Filter: Set to 5 Hz below the port tuning frequency (e.g., if tuned to 35 Hz, set to 30 Hz).
- LPF (Low-Pass Filter): Set between 63 Hz and 80 Hz.
- Bassboost: Set to 0.

Wiring the subwoofer
The subwoofer features dual voice coils, allowing for different wiring configurations to achieve desired impedance:

- One subwoofer, coils in series: Connects to 4 Ohms.
- One subwoofer, coils in parallel: Connects to 1 Ohm.
- Subwoofers in parallel, coils in series: Connects to 2 Ohms.
- Subwoofers in parallel, coils in parallel: Connects to 0.5 Ohms.
Recommended enclosures
For optimal acoustic performance, use a ported enclosure with the following specifications:

- Volume (net int.): 57 L
- External Dimensions (W x H x D): 640 x 322 x 454 mm
- Slot Port Internal Dimensions (SW x SH x SL): 63 x 292 x 660 mm
- Tuning Frequency (Fb): 35 Hz
- F3: 31 Hz
Important: Use 15 mm thick material for the enclosure. All volumes listed are net internal volumes; ensure you account for port and brace displacement when building. If using two subwoofers, double the required volume.
Safety and maintenance
Always operate the subwoofer in a mounted state. Securely attach all audio system components to prevent damage, especially in the event of an accident. The subwoofer is designed for an operating temperature range of +5 to +30 °C.
Practical help
Common problems
Ensure the amplifier RMS power is 1.5-2x the subwoofer's rated power and that the gain is not set too high (max 50%).
Check amplifier settings; ensure the head unit volume does not exceed 80% and filters are set correctly.
Before use
- Warm up the subwoofer for 50 hours at medium power.
- Ensure the amplifier is matched correctly (1.5-2x RMS).
- Set Subsonic filter 5Hz below port tuning.
- Set LPF between 63-80Hz.
- Securely mount the subwoofer before operation.
Images and diagrams
- Wiring diagrams illustrate how to connect dual voice coils in series or parallel to achieve specific impedance loads.
- Enclosure diagram shows the required internal volume and port dimensions for a ported box design.
Model compatibility
- Requires a ported enclosure of 57L for optimal performance.
- Voice coils are dual 2 Ohm.
