Quick guide from the manual
This document provides essential installation requirements for the Danfoss Type RD liquid distributor. Key requirements include using specific soldering materials, ensuring all tubes are of equal length, and verifying that the system pressure does not exceed the maximum working pressure.
Installation Requirements
Proper installation is critical for the performance of the liquid distributor. Follow these guidelines:

- Soldering Material: Use Silver-Flo 55 combined with Easy-flow Flux.
- Tube Length: All tubes connected to the distributor must be of the same length.
- Length Ratio: The length (L) of the tubes must be greater than 7 times the outer diameter (OD) of the tube (L > 7xOD).
Refrigerant Compatibility
The Type RD liquid distributor is compatible with a wide range of refrigerants, provided the saturation pressure at 125°F (51.7°C) does not exceed the marked design pressure rating.
- Compatible Classes: ASHRAE A1, A2, A2L, and A3 refrigerants.
- Special Applications: Suitable for use in secondary loop or cascade systems charged with R744.
Technical Specifications
Maximum Working Pressure (MWP): 49 bar (711 psig).

Common problems
Ensure all tubes connected to the distributor are of the exact same length to maintain proper distribution.
Verify that the saturation pressure of the refrigerant at 125°F (51.7°C) does not exceed 49 bar (711 psig).
Before use
- Verify the refrigerant type is within ASHRAE A1, A2, A2L, or A3 classes.
- Confirm the system saturation pressure at 125°F (51.7°C) is below 49 bar.
- Obtain Silver-Flo 55 and Easy-flow Flux for the soldering process.
- Measure and cut all tubes to the same length, ensuring L > 7xOD.
