Safety and Best Practices
- Always wear certified riding gear (helmet, gloves, boots, jacket, trousers).
- Do not ride under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Perform pre-ride checks: fuel level, engine oil, brake/clutch fluid, coolant, tire condition, and controls.
- The motorcycle is designed for road and light off-road use; avoid heavy-duty off-road use.
- Maximum load (rider, passenger, luggage) must not exceed 440 kg (970 lb).
Instrument Panel (Dashboard)
The instrument panel provides critical vehicle data and allows configuration of riding modes, DRL, and Bluetooth settings. It features four display layouts: CORE, TRACK, FULL, and CITY. You can access the Setting Menu by holding the menu button for 2 seconds when the vehicle speed is 5 km/h or less.
Riding Modes
The Diavel 1260 offers three preset riding modes: SPORT, TOURING, and URBAN. Each mode adjusts engine power, DTC (Traction Control), ABS, DWC (Wheelie Control), and DQS (Quick Shift) settings. These can be customized via the Setting Menu.
Maintenance
Scheduled maintenance must be performed by an authorized dealer. Key customer-performed checks include:


- Engine oil level (check via sight glass).
- Brake and clutch fluid levels.
- Tire pressure and condition.
- Drive chain tension and lubrication.
- Brake pad wear.

Common problems
Check if the side stand is up (if in gear), ensure the engine kill switch is in the RUN position, and verify the battery charge.
Indicates a system fault or initialization in progress. If it remains on or flashing after riding, contact an authorized Ducati service center.
Ensure the active key is nearby and the battery is not flat. If the battery is flat, use the recovery procedure by placing the key near the antenna on the headlight fairing.
Before use
- Check fuel level in the tank.
- Check engine oil level via sight glass.
- Check brake and clutch fluid levels.
- Check coolant level in the expansion reservoir.
- Inspect tire pressure and condition.
- Verify all lights and indicators are functional.
- Ensure side stand operates smoothly.
