Installation and connection

Follow these steps to set up your router:

  1. Determine connection type: Choose the path based on your service (DSL and landline vs. DSL only).
  2. Connect to power: Plug the device into an electrical outlet. The Power/DSL LED will begin to flash.
  3. Connect to DSL: Use the provided cables to connect the router to your DSL line and telephone socket as indicated by the color-coded paths in the manual.
  4. Connect computers: You can connect devices via network cable or wirelessly via WLAN.

Wireless LAN and DECT

To connect wireless devices via WPS:

  • Click the WLAN icon in the Windows taskbar.

To register DECT cordless telephones:

  1. Set your telephone to registration mode.
  2. Enter the PIN 0000 on the telephone.
  3. Press and hold the DECT button on the router.

The router features a web-based user interface for advanced settings. Open any web browser and enter http://fritz.box to access the configuration menu.

LED status indicators

The router uses LED lights to communicate status:

  • Power/DSL: Flashing indicates connection establishment; solid indicates ready for operation.
  • Internet/Fixed Line: Indicates active telephone connections.
  • WLAN: Indicates wireless network status.
  • Info: Flashing green indicates firmware updates or Stick & Surf in progress; red indicates an error.

WLAN LED flashes red or Info LED is red
