Product Overview

The GYS MULTIWELD 160M and 200M are semi-automatic welding stations capable of MIG/MAG, flux-cored, and MMA (stick) welding. These machines are designed for manual adjustment, supported by a reference table printed on the unit, making them suitable for welding steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.

Safety Instructions

Arc welding can be dangerous and cause serious or fatal injuries. Users must be aware of risks including heat, arc rays, electromagnetic fields, noise, gas fumes, and electrical shocks. Always wear appropriate protective clothing, including insulated, dry, fireproof garments covering the entire body, and protective gloves. Ensure the working area is well-ventilated and free of flammable materials. Keep a minimum distance of 11 meters from flammable substances and ensure a fire extinguisher is readily available.

Installation and Setup

The machine must be placed on a floor with a maximum incline of 10°. Ensure sufficient ventilation and easy access to the control panel. The unit is rated IP21, providing protection against solid objects larger than 12.5mm and vertically falling water drops. The power supply must be a 230V single-phase earthed installation. All cables must be fully uncoiled to prevent overheating.

Operation

The machine features an intuitive interface for adjusting welding parameters. For MIG/MAG welding, select the output voltage and wire speed based on the material thickness table on the unit. For MMA welding, adjust the current based on the electrode diameter and type. The machines include an 'Anti-Sticking' feature for MMA welding to prevent electrode overheating if it sticks to the workpiece.

Maintenance

Annual maintenance by a qualified person is recommended. Regularly remove the casing to blow out dust and check electrical connections with an insulated tool. Ensure ventilation holes remain clear for proper airflow. If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or a qualified professional.

Troubleshooting

  • Wire feed issues: Check for debris in the contact tip, ensure correct roller pressure, and verify the wire diameter matches the roller.
  • No welding current: Check the mains connection, earth clamp connection, and the torch trigger.
  • Porous weld bead: Ensure sufficient gas flow, clean the base metal, and check for drafts or wind in the welding area.

Disposal

This equipment is subject to selective waste collection according to European directive 2012/19/EU. Do not dispose of it in domestic household waste.
