This document provides installation instructions for Kodlin K55125 Solid Riser Bushings. These bushings are designed to provide a raised surface to prevent large diameter riser bases from contacting the top surface of the upper fork bracket. Installation requires mechanical knowledge; if you are not confident in your ability to perform these steps, consult a trained technician.
Installation procedure
- Remove the existing risers and handlebars as necessary to gain access to the riser bushings.
- Remove the existing riser bushings from the fork bracket.
- Install the new solid riser bushings. Note that the thicker bushing must be placed on the top and should stand 1/16 inch higher than the top surface of the fork bracket.
- Reinstall the risers and handlebars according to the motorcycle manufacturer's recommendations.
Important installation notes
- Thread locker: Use red thread locker on all riser threads.
- Torque specifications: Tighten riser nuts or bolts to 30–40 ft-lbs.
- Stud usage: If using riser studs, ensure they are threaded all the way into the risers.
- Bolt usage: If using bolts, they must thread into the risers at least 1 inch, with a minimum of 1/2 inch required.
Maintenance and safety
Periodic maintenance and inspection are required to ensure all fasteners remain tight before operating the motorcycle. Improper installation or lack of maintenance will void the warranty. Always follow the manufacturer's torque specifications for your specific motorcycle model.
