This guide provides essential information for the safe and effective operation of the Philips Vue PACS Version 12.2.8.x system. It covers system navigation, diagnostic workflows, data management, and security protocols. Users must be trained professionals, including radiologists, physicians, and PACS administrators.

Safety and Security
The system requires a secure local network with protections such as firewalls, NIDS, and virus scanners. It is strongly recommended not to use the server or workstation for Internet browsing. Physical access to the system must be restricted. Users should implement strong passwords and utilize the automatic logoff/screen lock feature. In case of malware detection or unfamiliar behavior, contact a Philips Service Engineer immediately.

Common problems
If immediate viewing is required, refer to the modality itself. Follow Institute guiding principles if no onsite radiologist can access the modality.
Enable the 'Break Glass' function if permitted by your site's privacy regulations. This action requires providing a reason and will be audited.
Immediately call a Philips Service Engineer for an inspection. Do not attempt to fix it yourself.
If the system does not automatically resolve metadata discrepancies, use the RIS Sync function in the Manage Database menu.
