Product Overview
The RAVEK Multi-Function Tail Light is a premium lighting upgrade designed specifically for the 2024+ Polaris Ranger 1500XD. This plug-and-play system integrates seamlessly with your vehicle to provide enhanced rear lighting, including running lights, brake lights, and a high-intensity white work light.
Safety and Preparation
Before beginning the installation, ensure your vehicle is turned off and the key is removed from the ignition. Keep track of all removed screws and fasteners, as they will be required for re-installation. Always route wiring away from hot or moving components to prevent damage.
Installation Steps
Making Connections
Locate the multipin harness on your Ranger 1500XD and identify the connectors labeled RIGHT APEX and LEFT APEX. Connect the provided extension harnesses to these points, then attach the tail light to the corresponding connectors. For the main controller, connect the 1-pin connector to the work light harness, the trailer connector to the extension harness, and the 4-pin connector to the light assembly.
Mounting the Light
Clean the tailgate surface thoroughly using the provided rubbing alcohol wipes, followed by the adhesive promoter wipes. Apply the mounting clips to the back of the light, ensuring they are spaced evenly. Position the light on the tailgate, mark the mounting points, and drill a 1/2 inch hole for wire routing if necessary. Secure the light firmly to the tailgate, ensuring the RAVEK logos on the end caps are oriented correctly.
Rocker Switch Setup
Connect the battery positive and negative harnesses to the vehicle's accessory battery terminals. Route the spade connectors from the work light, battery negative, and battery positive harnesses to the rocker switch location. Connect each spade to the appropriate terminal on the back of the rocker switch as specified in the wiring diagram.
Testing and Maintenance
Once installed, verify the system functionality by testing the red running light, brake light, and white work light. If your vehicle is equipped with a turn signal kit, confirm that the integrated turn signal feature operates correctly. Secure all loose wiring to the frame or OEM harnesses using the provided zip ties and trim any excess material.
