The RS PRO Black Nylon Cable Tie is a one-piece, self-locking fastener designed for cable management in home, DIY, and garden applications. These ties are low smoke, halogen-free, and UV resistant, making them suitable for outdoor use.

Product Description

The cable tie features a head with a slot. The tape is pulled through this slot to create a loop. Once the desired loop size is achieved, the excess cable can be cut off. These ties are non-releasable, meaning they lock permanently once tightened.

Installation

To install the cable tie:

Wrap the cable tie around the bundle of cables.
Insert the tapered end of the tie into the head slot.
Pull the tie through the slot until the loop is tight around the cables.
Ensure the tie is secure.
Use a cutting tool to remove the excess length of the cable tie.

Common problems

Cable tie does not hold

Ensure the tie is pulled tight through the head and the locking mechanism is fully engaged. Note that these are non-releasable ties and cannot be undone once locked.

Tie is too short for the cable bundle

The maximum bundle diameter for this model is 22mm. If your cable bundle exceeds this size, you must use a longer cable tie.

Before use

Verify the bundle diameter does not exceed 22mm.
Ensure the cable tie is suitable for the environment (UV resistant, outdoor use).
Check that the required tensile strength (78.4N) is sufficient for your application.
