Product Overview

The Sigma 16mm F1.4 DC DN Contemporary lens is a high-performance prime lens designed for mirrorless camera systems. It is available for Micro Four Thirds and Sony E-mount (APS-C format) cameras. The lens features a complex optical construction and a bayonet-style mount for secure attachment.

Safety Precautions

• Warning: Never look directly at the sun through the lens, as this can cause permanent eye damage or blindness.
• Do not leave the lens in direct sunlight without the lens cap attached to prevent the risk of fire.
• Handle the lens mount with care due to its complex shape to avoid injury.

Installation and Operation

To attach the lens, align it with the camera mount and rotate until it clicks into place. Ensure the electrical contacts on the mount remain clean and undamaged to prevent camera malfunctions.

Focusing

For autofocus, set your camera to autofocus mode. For manual focus, switch the camera to manual focus mode and rotate the focus ring on the lens to adjust sharpness.

Lens Hood and Filters

A detachable bayonet-type lens hood is included to prevent flare and ghosting. It should be removed when using the built-in camera flash to avoid shadows. For storage, the hood can be attached in reverse. Use only one filter at a time to avoid vignetting.

Maintenance and Care

• Avoid shocks, extreme temperatures, and high humidity.
• Store in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place. Keep away from mothballs or naphthalene gas to protect lens coatings.
• Clean the lens elements using a soft, moistened lens cloth or tissue. Do not use organic solvents like thinner or benzine.
• The lens is not waterproof. If used in rain or near water, keep it dry to prevent damage to internal mechanisms and electronic components.
• If moving between environments with significant temperature differences, keep the lens in its case until it reaches room temperature to prevent condensation.
