Quick guide from the manual
This document provides essential instructions for operating the Starfrit glass digital scale. Key requirements include placing the scale on a hard, flat surface and removing the battery isolation sheet before the first use. The scale is designed for personal use only and is not intended for commercial applications.

Battery installation and replacement
The scale requires one 3V lithium battery (CR2032). Before first use, ensure the isolation sheet is removed from the battery contact. To replace the battery:
- Open the battery case cover on the back of the scale.
- Remove the used battery using a sharp object.
- Install the new battery by sliding one side under the compartment tab and pressing down the other side.
Important: Do not mix old and new batteries or different types (alkaline, standard, or rechargeable). Dispose of used batteries according to local regulations.
Operation
To obtain an accurate reading, place the scale on a hard, flat surface, avoiding carpets or soft flooring. Step gently onto the scale; it will turn on automatically. Stand still until the weight reading on the display is stable and locked. The scale will shut off automatically after approximately 8 seconds of inactivity.
Unit conversion
The scale features automatic conversion between metric (kg) and imperial (lb) units. Locate the unit conversion button on the back of the scale and press it while the device is powered on to toggle between units.
Troubleshooting and indicators
- Err: Indicates the scale is overloaded (maximum capacity is 330 lb / 150 kg). Step off immediately to avoid damage.
- Lo: Indicates low battery power; please install a new battery.
- C: Indicates an error in the weighing reading; please step off and re-test.
Care and maintenance
- Clean the scale with a damp cloth; do not allow water to enter the internal components.
- Do not use chemical or abrasive cleaning agents.
- Keep the scale in a cool, dry place and always store it in a horizontal position.
- Avoid striking, shocking, or dropping the scale.
- For best accuracy, weigh yourself at the same time of day, without clothes or shoes, and avoid weighing immediately after physical activity.
