The JHS 3-Series Screamer is an overdrive pedal based on the classic Tube Screamer circuit with a "Strong Mod." It features versatile drive and tone controls, along with a clipping toggle to switch between asymmetrical and symmetrical clipping modes. Important: Always use a 9V DC negative center power supply. Using more than 9V DC will void your warranty.

Controls

  • VOLUME: Adjusts the overall volume. Turn left for less volume, right for more.
  • TONE: Adjusts the brightness of the tone. Turn left for a darker sound, right for a brighter sound.
  • DRIVE: Controls the amount of gain. Turn left for less drive, right for more.
  • +/- Toggle: Changes the clipping style.
    • Up: Asymmetrical clipping (Strong mod).
    • Down: Symmetrical clipping (Stock TS9/TS808 style).

Connections and Power

The pedal features standard 1/4" jacks for input and output.

  • INPUT: Located on the right side of the pedal.
  • OUTPUT: Located on the left side of the pedal.
  • POWER: Requires 9V DC negative center power. The pedal consumes 12mA.

Common problems

No sound or pedal not powering on

Ensure you are using a 9V DC negative center power supply. Check that the power cable is securely connected.

Warranty voided

Do not use a power supply with a voltage higher than 9V DC.

Before use

  • Ensure you have 1/4" instrument cables for input and output.
