The JHS 3-Series Screamer is an overdrive pedal based on the classic Tube Screamer circuit with a "Strong Mod." It features versatile drive and tone controls, along with a clipping toggle to switch between asymmetrical and symmetrical clipping modes. Important: Always use a 9V DC negative center power supply. Using more than 9V DC will void your warranty.
Controls
- VOLUME: Adjusts the overall volume. Turn left for less volume, right for more.
- TONE: Adjusts the brightness of the tone. Turn left for a darker sound, right for a brighter sound.
- DRIVE: Controls the amount of gain. Turn left for less drive, right for more.
- +/- Toggle: Changes the clipping style.
- Up: Asymmetrical clipping (Strong mod).
- Down: Symmetrical clipping (Stock TS9/TS808 style).
Connections and Power
The pedal features standard 1/4" jacks for input and output.
- INPUT: Located on the right side of the pedal.
- OUTPUT: Located on the left side of the pedal.
- POWER: Requires 9V DC negative center power. The pedal consumes 12mA.
Practical help
Common problems
Ensure you are using a 9V DC negative center power supply. Check that the power cable is securely connected.
Do not use a power supply with a voltage higher than 9V DC.
Before use
- Verify the power supply is 9V DC negative center.
- Ensure you have 1/4" instrument cables for input and output.
- Set the clipping toggle to the desired position (Up for Asymmetrical, Down for Symmetrical) before playing.
