Quick guide from the manual

This guide provides instructions for the Victor M201 Metal Pedal Rat Trap. Proper setup is essential for effectiveness, particularly regarding baiting and placement to avoid human scent.

Setting the trap

Releasing the arm bar
Releasing the arm bar
  1. Release the arm bar from the staple.
  2. Move the arm bar to the back of the trap so it hangs over the back.
  3. Apply a small amount of bait (peanut butter, bacon, dry pet food, or nuts) to the metal pedal. Important: Use a Q-tip, toothpick, or another tool to apply bait to prevent transferring your scent onto the trap.
  4. Pull the kill bar back and hold it in place with your thumb.
  5. Take the arm bar over the kill bar and latch the end of the arm bar on the metal pedal.

Placement and disposal

Place the trap where you have observed signs of rodent activity or along walls where rodents primarily travel. The end of the trap with the baited metal pedal should be placed flush against the wall.

After a rat is caught, properly dispose of the dead rodent. The trap can either be discarded or reused.
