The Viessmann Vitocal 150-A and 151-A are air/water heat pumps designed for residential heating, cooling, and domestic hot water preparation. The system is operated via a 7-inch color touch display or the ViCare app. The Vitocal 151-A includes an integrated hot water storage tank, while the 150-A may be configured with external storage solutions.
Safety Information
Danger: The outdoor unit contains flammable R290 (propane) refrigerant. A safety zone must be maintained around the outdoor unit where no ignition sources (open flames, electrical equipment, etc.) are permitted. Do not touch the heat exchanger fins, as they can be sharp or reach extreme temperatures.
Operation and Settings
The system is controlled through the main menu on the touch display. Users can configure heating/cooling circuits, hot water temperatures, and time programs. Energy-saving tips: Avoid overheating rooms; each degree lower saves approximately 6% in heating costs. Use the 'Holiday Program' or 'Holiday at Home' functions during extended absences or holidays to reduce energy consumption.
Maintenance
Regular inspection and maintenance by a qualified professional are required to ensure efficient and safe operation. The user is responsible for keeping the unit's exterior clean using a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or high-pressure washers. The safety valve on the hot water storage tank should be checked semi-annually.
Troubleshooting
- Rooms too cold: Check if the heat pump is switched on, verify time program settings, and ensure the heating curve is correctly adjusted.
- No hot water: Verify the hot water operating program is set to 'ON' and check time program settings.
- System Warnings/Faults: The display will indicate if a fault occurs. Note the error code and contact a qualified professional for repair.
Disposal
The system and its components must not be disposed of in household waste. Contact a professional heating contractor for proper decommissioning and disposal of the equipment and its operating fluids.
