This guide provides essential installation and commissioning instructions for the ActronAir Genesis 15kW-17kW package units. These units are designed for use with R-32 refrigerant (Class A2L), which is mildly flammable. All installation, service, and maintenance must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician. Always refer to the R-32 Safety Manual in conjunction with this document.

Installation Preparation
Before beginning installation, verify the unit capacities and ratings against the nameplate. Ensure the floor or foundation is level, solid, and has sufficient structural strength to support the unit weight. Maintain the recommended service clearances to ensure proper airflow and access for maintenance.

Unit Lifting
Crane lifting is recommended for high-rise installations. Use a spreader bar slightly larger than the base and protect unit edges with rubber pads. Lifting points are located at each corner of the unit (4 total, 17.5mm diameter). Always test lift the unit to ensure balance before hoisting.
Electrical Installation
All electrical work must comply with local regulations and the AS/NZS 3000 standard. Wiring diagrams are located on the inside of the electrical access panel. Ensure the power supply is within +6% to -6% of the rated voltage. Install an appropriate load break (AC3) isolator in the sub-mains wiring.

Wiring Connections
The unit supports various wall controller options (NEO, LC7-2). Ensure data cables are kept separate from mains cables to minimize interference. For units using third-party control, configure the control source on the outdoor board to Ct. 0.
Commissioning and Configuration
The unit is factory-configured. Use the MENU and ENTER buttons on the outdoor board to navigate settings. The Control Source (CtrS) setting determines how the unit is controlled (e.g., Wall Control, BMS, or Third-Party). Demand Response Management (DRM) is available but not applicable when using third-party control.
Maintenance
Regular servicing is recommended every 12 months for residential applications and every quarter for commercial applications. Always disconnect electrical power before performing maintenance. Key tasks include:
- Leak testing refrigerant circuits.
- Inspecting and tightening electrical connections.
- Cleaning condenser coils (use soft brush and low-pressure water).
- Checking fans for balanced operation.
- Inspecting air filters and replacing as needed.
If the unit is located in a dusty environment, clean the coils more frequently. High discharge pressures are an indicator that coils require cleaning.
Practical help
Common problems
Indicates a leak in the system; perform a leak test to locate and repair.
If imbalance exceeds 2.0%, check unit wiring connections or contact the local supply authority.
Ensure drain pipe slopes down from the unit at a minimum of 10mm per meter and check for obstructions.
Before use
- Verify unit capacities and ratings with the nameplate.
- Ensure floor or foundation is level and has sufficient structural strength.
- Confirm minimum service clearances are maintained (300mm/400mm/600mm).
- Ensure R-32 safety manual is read and understood.
- Verify power supply is within +6% to -6% of rated voltage.
- Ensure all electrical wiring complies with AS/NZS 3000.
Specs in practice
- R-32 Refrigerant
- Mildly flammable (A2L class); requires specific handling and well-ventilated storage.
- Circuit Breaker
- 16A recommended for both PRV15BT and PRV17BT models.
- Subcooling/Superheat
- Critical parameters for optimal performance; refer to the charging table for specific values.
Images and diagrams
- Wiring diagrams are located on the inside of the electrical access panel.
- Lifting points are located at each corner of the unit (4 total).
- Condenser drain must be run separately from the evaporator drain.
Model compatibility
- Designed for use with R-32 refrigerant only.
- Outdoor unit must match an ActronAir indoor unit as specified in the Technical Selection Catalogue.
