The Ampeg SVT 210AV is a high-performance speaker cabinet designed for use with bass amplifier heads, such as the Micro-VR. Key operational requirements include:
- Safety: Do not stack more than two cabinets high. Ensure the surface is sturdy and level.
- Cables: Always use a high-quality, non-shielded speaker cable. Never use a shielded instrument cable to connect the speaker to an amplifier.
- Connections: The cabinet features two 1/4" parallel jacks. You can use the output jack to daisy-chain a second cabinet.
Introduction
The SVT 210AV is designed to provide the classic look and sound of the SVT-Series in a compact format. It features two ten-inch Eminence speakers and is built to withstand the demands of professional use.

Connections
The rear panel contains two 1/4" TS jacks wired in parallel. This allows for flexible connectivity:

- Input: Connect the speaker-level output from your amplifier to the input jack.
- Output: Use the output jack to connect a second speaker cabinet in parallel.
Note: Connecting a second cabinet will present a total load of 4 ohms to the amplifier. Ensure your amplifier is capable of handling a 4-ohm load before connecting a second cabinet.
Technical Specifications
The SVT 210AV is rated for 200W RMS power handling at 8 ohms impedance. It is constructed from birch plywood and includes a stylish top handle for portability.
Maintenance
The cabinet is covered with a durable fabric-backed vinyl material. To clean, use a dry, lint-free cloth. Do not spray cleaning agents directly onto the cabinet, and avoid abrasive cleansers that may damage the finish.

Practical help
Common problems
Ensure you are using a non-shielded speaker cable. Shielded instrument cables are not suitable for connecting speakers to an amplifier.
Check if the total impedance load is too low. Connecting two 8-ohm cabinets in parallel creates a 4-ohm load; ensure your amplifier supports 4-ohm operation.
Before use
- Place the cabinet on a sturdy, level surface.
- Verify the amplifier output is compatible with an 8-ohm load.
- Use a high-quality, non-shielded speaker cable.
- If stacking, do not exceed two cabinets in height.

Specs in practice
- Impedance: 8 ohms
- The electrical resistance of the cabinet. Your amplifier must be rated to handle this load.
- Power Handling: 200W RMS
- The continuous power the cabinet can safely handle from the amplifier.
- Parallel Jacks
- Allows you to connect a second cabinet to the same amplifier output.
Images and diagrams
- The System Block Diagram shows the two 10-inch speakers wired in parallel to the input/output jacks.
- The Rear Panel diagram identifies the Input and Output jacks for connecting your amplifier and daisy-chaining additional cabinets.
Model compatibility
- Designed as an ideal companion to the Micro-VR amplifier head.
- Compatible with any amplifier capable of driving an 8-ohm load (or 4-ohm if daisy-chaining two cabinets).
