This document provides essential instructions for the safe assembly, operation, and maintenance of the Baby Trend 1871CT Stroller Travel System. Always read all instructions before use and never leave a child unattended. The maximum weight capacity for the stroller is 45 lbs, with a 5 lbs limit for the storage basket and 3 lbs for the parent tray.
Assembly
Before use, install the front wheels, rear wheels, child tray, and parent tray. To unfold, slide the red unlock mechanism and squeeze the handle while pulling backward. Lean the stroller backward to attach the front wheel assemblies onto the front tubes until they lock. Lean the stroller forward to attach the rear axle assembly to the rear legs, then slide each wheel onto the axle, securing them with the locking cap, solid cap, and hub cap. Attach the child tray by pushing it onto the armrest posts until it snaps into place.

Securing the child
The stroller features a 5-point harness with 3 shoulder strap height positions. Place the child in the seat, bring the harness around the waist and over the shoulders, and insert the male ends into the crotch strap buckle. Tighten the harness for a snug fit. To release, press both sides of the male clips.

Car seat attachment
To attach the compatible Baby Trend Infant Car Seat, recline the stroller seat fully. Ensure the front child tray is firmly attached. Position the car seat facing the rear of the stroller, locking it into the front tray, and secure it using the tabs on the stroller frame.

Operation and adjustments
The seat back recline is controlled by a cord and spring-loaded adjuster behind the seat. The upright position is only for children at least 6 months old. To engage the brakes, apply downward pressure to the brake levers on each rear wheel. The handle height can be adjusted by pressing the round buttons on each side.
Folding and unfolding
Before folding, close the canopy and place the seat in the furthest recline position. Flip the car seat support tabs to the outside of the frame. Slide the red fold lock while squeezing the large red fold button in the center of the handle and push forward. The stroller will automatically lock when folded. To unfold, repeat the handle button process and push down.

Cleaning and maintenance
Clean the seat pad using mild soap, warm water, and a sponge; allow it to air dry. Regularly check for loose screws, worn parts, or torn material. If the stroller malfunctions, discontinue use and contact customer service at 800-328-7363 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Pacific Standard Time.
