This document provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation of the Bosch GWS Professional 18V-11 and 18V-11 S angle grinders. Always read the full safety instructions before use. Ensure the battery is removed before any maintenance or accessory changes to prevent accidental startup.

Device Description
The angle grinder is designed for cutting and brushing metal and stone, roughing metal, and drilling in stone with diamond core cutters without water. The 18V-11 S model includes a speed preselection thumbwheel.
Assembly
Protective Guard: Align the coding cams of the guard with the holder on the tool. Press and hold the unlocking lever, push the guard onto the spindle collar, and rotate until it clicks into place. Ensure the guard is positioned to prevent sparks from flying towards the operator.

Auxiliary Handle: Screw the handle onto the right or left side of the machine head. Do not operate the tool without the handle.
Mounting Abrasive Tools: Clean the grinding spindle and all parts to be mounted. Use the spindle lock button to lock the spindle. Use the quick-clamping nut for discs up to 125 mm diameter. Ensure the printed side of the nut does not face the grinding disc.
Operation
Switching On/Off: Push the On/Off switch forward to start. To lock, push the switch forward and down until it clicks. To switch off, release the switch or push the back down if locked.
Speed Preselection (18V-11 S): Use the thumbwheel to select the required speed based on the material and application (e.g., lower speed for brushing, higher for cutting).
Safety Features
- KickBack Control: Electronically interrupts power if the tool suddenly kicks back.
- Restart Protection: Prevents uncontrolled startup after power interruption.
- Run-out Brake: Electronically stops the tool within seconds.
- Drop Control: Switches the tool off if it hits the floor after a fall.
Maintenance
Keep the tool and ventilation slots clean for safe operation. Store accessories carefully. For repairs, contact Bosch customer service.
