This document provides operating instructions for the Bosch GWX 18V-15 C and GWX 18V-15 SC cordless angle grinders. These tools are designed for cutting, roughing, and brushing metal and stone materials, as well as drilling in stone with diamond core cutters without the use of water. The GWX 18V-15 SC model includes a user interface for speed preselection and status monitoring.

Device Description

The angle grinder features the X-LOCK system for tool-free accessory changes. Key components include the protective guard, side handle, battery, and user interface (on the SC model). The tool is compatible with Bosch 18V batteries (GBA and ProCORE18V).

Assembly and Installation

• Protective Guard: Place the guard onto the holder until the coding cams align. Press and hold the unlocking lever, press the guard onto the spindle collar, and rotate until it clicks into place.
• Side Handle: Always operate the tool with the side handle attached. Screw it into the gear head on the left or right side.
• Abrasive Tools (X-LOCK): Ensure the tool and holder are free of dirt. Place the disc centered and parallel to the bearing surface. Press the disc into the holder until it audibly clicks. Do not actuate the lever during this process.

Operation

Insert the charged battery into the base of the tool until it locks. To start, push the on/off switch forward. To lock it, press the front of the switch down. To switch off, release the switch or press the rear of the switch if it is locked.

Safety and Maintenance

Always wear safety goggles. Regularly clean the air vents to prevent dust accumulation. If the tool is subjected to heavy load, run it at no-load for several minutes to cool down. If the tool becomes electrostatically charged, the electronics will switch it off; press the on/off switch again to restart.

Troubleshooting

If the tool stops automatically, do not continue to press the on/off switch, as this may damage the battery. Check the status indicators on the user interface for battery charge, temperature, and tool status (e.g., kickback stop, restart protection, or impact shutdown).
