The Bosch GDE 12 Professional is a dust extraction attachment designed for collecting drilling dust when drilling in concrete, brick, stone, ceramic, and tiles. It is compatible with the GBH 185-LI rotary hammer.

Assembly

To attach the device, align the housing guide of the dust extraction attachment (9) with the housing guide of the rotary hammer (11) and slide it on until it audibly engages. To remove, press and hold both release buttons (6) and pull the attachment off.

Operation

Important: Never use the attachment without a filter. Always hold the power tool by its handle and auxiliary handle, not by the dust extraction attachment.

  • Drill bit installation: Press the drill bit length adjustment button (3) and pull the guide (2) out. Insert the drill bit through the dust cap (8) and into the chuck according to the power tool's instructions.
  • Adjusting guide length: Press button (3) and adjust guide (2) so the drill bit tip is flush with the dust cap (8).
  • Adjusting drilling depth: Press button (1) and slide it along the guide (2) to set the desired depth X.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Empty the dust box (13) regularly and after finishing work to maintain optimal suction. Use the viewing window (7) to check the fill level. To clean, remove the HEPA filter (14) and tap it out or brush it with a soft brush. Do not clean the HEPA filter with water or compressed air.

Safety

Do not use the attachment when drilling in metal, as hot metal chips can ignite the dust container. Always wear ear protection.

Dust escaping during extraction

Check if the dust cap (8) is worn and replace it if necessary.
