The Bosch GGS 18V-20 Professional is a cordless straight grinder designed for grinding and deburring metal using corundum grinding tools and for working with sanding belt tools. Always remove the battery before performing any maintenance, changing accessories, or transporting the tool to prevent accidental activation.

Device description
The tool features a collet (1), clamping nut (2), grinding spindle (3), spindle collar (4), on/off switch (5), battery release button (6), battery (7), and handle (8). The spindle collar and handle have insulated gripping surfaces.
Assembly and tool change
Before changing tools, remove the battery. Use only suitable and undamaged open-ended spanners (9, 10) to hold the grinding spindle and loosen/tighten the clamping nut. Insert the shank of the grinding tool into the collet (1) until it hits the stop. The tool must be clamped at least 10 mm deep. Do not tighten the collet nut without a tool inserted, as this may damage the collet.

Operation
To start the tool, slide the on/off switch (5) forward. To lock it, press the front of the switch down until it clicks. To switch off, release the switch or press the rear part of the switch if it is locked. The tool features restart protection to prevent uncontrolled starting after a power interruption.
Battery management
Use only the chargers listed in the technical data. The battery is protected against deep discharge by Electronic Cell Protection (ECP). Check the charge level using the LEDs on the battery. If no LEDs light up, the battery is defective.
Safety and maintenance
Keep the tool and ventilation slots clean for safe operation. Avoid dust accumulation at the workplace, as dust can easily ignite. Protect the battery from heat, fire, water, and moisture. For repairs, contact the Bosch after-sales service.
