Table of contents
Product Overview
The BRITA water filter jug is designed to provide cleaner, fresher-tasting water by reducing substances like chlorine, limescale, and certain metals such as lead and copper. The system utilizes the innovative BRITA MicroFlow Technology, featuring Micro Carbon Pearls made from natural coconut shells to lock away taste and odour-impairing substances, and Ion-Exchange Pearls to reduce limescale, protecting your household appliances.

Getting Started
Before first use, clean the funnel and jug, which are dishwasher safe (max 50°C). Remove the protective wrapper from the MAXTRA+ water filter. Immerse the filter in cold water and shake gently to remove air bubbles. Insert the filter into the funnel and press down until it is firmly positioned. Activate the filter by discarding the first two fillings of water. From the third filling, your BRITA water filter jug is ready for use.
Filter Replacement and Indicators
To ensure optimum performance, replace your MAXTRA+ water filter every four weeks or after 100 litres of filtration. Your jug is equipped with an exchange indicator to remind you when to replace the filter. For models with the BRITA Smart Light, press the reset button for 5-10 seconds until the LED flashes green three times to activate. The Smart Light uses different coloured lights to indicate filter status: green for optimal performance, yellow when it is nearly time to replace, and red when replacement is required. For models with the BRITA Memo, press the START button until all four bars appear on the display. Each bar represents approximately one week of use.
Important Usage and Maintenance
BRITA filtered water is intended for human consumption and should be consumed within one day. Keep the jug away from direct sunlight and heat sources. If the jug comes into contact with strongly staining foods like ketchup or mustard, clean it immediately to avoid discolouration. Regularly descale the lid and indicator using a common citric acid-based descaling fluid. If the jug will not be used for a prolonged period, remove the filter, discard any remaining water, and store the filter loosely in the funnel. Always use cold tap water for filtration.
