The Brookstone 10X/1X Fluorescent Mirror is designed to provide a bright, clear view for grooming. This manual covers essential safety precautions, operation, bulb replacement, and maintenance. Always ensure the unit is unplugged when not in use and keep it away from water to prevent electric shock.

Location of Controls

• Main Housing: The central unit containing the mirror and light.
• Mirror: Dual-sided mirror (10X and 1X magnification).
• Stand: Supports the mirror housing.
• Base: The bottom section containing the power button.
• On/Off Button: Located on the base to control the light.
• AC Cord: Connects the unit to the power outlet.

Operation

1. Plug the unit's AC cord into an electrical outlet.
2. Choose either the 10X or the 1X side of the mirror and rotate the housing to the desired angle. Note: Do not force the housing past the stop, as this may damage the internal wiring. To access the other side, rotate the housing in the opposite direction.
3. Push the button on the base to turn the light on.
4. Push the button again to turn the light off.

Replacing the Lightbulb

1. Unplug the unit from the electrical outlet.
2. Unscrew the top and bottom screws on the same side of the housing.
3. Carefully lift the front of the unit off the rest of the housing and set it aside in a safe place.
4. Unscrew the old bulb in a counterclockwise direction and dispose of it properly.
5. Replace with a 15W 2U bulb by turning it in a clockwise direction.
6. Replace the front of the unit and secure it with the screws.

Care and Maintenance

• Wipe the housing with a soft, dry cloth.
• Do not use abrasive cleaning agents.
• Clean mirrors with a glass cleaning solution. Do not spray the solution directly onto the glass; spray the cloth instead.

Safety Warnings

• Always unplug the unit immediately after use.
• Do not use the mirror while bathing or in a shower.
• Do not place or store the unit where it can fall into a tub or sink.
• Do not place or drop the unit into water or other liquids.
• If the unit falls into water, do not reach for it; unplug it immediately.
• Prevent objects from falling and liquids from spilling onto the unit.
