Product Overview

The Canon RF-S 14-30mm f/4-6.3 IS STM PZ is a wide-angle zoom lens designed for EOS R series cameras compatible with RF-S lenses. It features an integrated Image Stabilizer (IS), a Stepping Motor (STM) for smooth autofocus, and Power Zoom (PZ) capabilities for versatile shooting.

Setup and Operation

To attach the lens, align the lens mount indexes on both the lens and the camera, then rotate the lens clockwise until it clicks. To detach, press the camera's lens release button and rotate the lens counterclockwise.

Focusing and Control Ring

The lens features a versatile focusing/control ring. Its function is determined by the camera settings. In autofocus mode, the camera handles focusing; in manual mode, you can adjust focus by turning the ring. The ring can also be assigned to control settings like aperture or shutter speed via the camera menu.

Zooming

The lens utilizes motorized Power Zoom. Turning the zoom ring towards the [W] mark zooms to the wide-angle position, while turning towards [T] zooms to the telephoto position. Zoom speed is pressure-sensitive and can be adjusted through camera settings.

Image Stabilization

The built-in Image Stabilizer helps reduce blur caused by camera shake. It is effective for hand-held shooting in low light or when using slower shutter speeds. For tripod use, it is recommended to turn the Image Stabilizer off.

Maintenance and Handling

• If moving the lens between cold and warm environments, place it in an airtight plastic bag to prevent condensation.
• Keep lens contacts clean and free of fingerprints or debris to ensure proper communication with the camera.
• Use a soft cloth to clean the contacts if they become soiled.
• The lens hood (sold separately) helps reduce flare and ghosting while protecting the front element.
