Product Overview
The Cobra Fortis series (14L, 17B, 20B, 25B) represents a range of high-performance petrol cylinder lawn mowers designed for home gardening and fine turf sports field environments. These machines feature a versatile cartridge system, allowing users to switch between different lawn care tasks such as scarifying, dethatching, brushing, verticutting, and aerating.

Safety Information
Warning: Failure to follow safety instructions can result in serious personal injury. Always read the manual before operation. Key safety rules include:
- Never operate the mower near children, pets, or bystanders.
- Wear substantial footwear and long trousers; never operate barefoot.
- Petrol is highly flammable; refuel outdoors only, with the engine stopped and cool.
- Do not operate on slopes steeper than 20 degrees.
- Always stop the engine and disconnect the spark plug wire before performing maintenance, cleaning, or unclogging the machine.
- Keep hands and feet away from the cutting unit and rotating parts.
Assembly and Setup
The mower requires assembly of the handlebar. Ensure all cables are free from pinching during this process. Before first use, the engine must be filled with the correct type and volume of oil (SAE 30), as units are shipped with oil drained. Always check that the spark plug connector is firmly attached and all fixings are tightened.
Operation
The mower is equipped with a throttle control, cylinder clutch lever, and drive clutch lever. To start, ensure the fuel valve is 'ON', the engine switch is 'ON', and the throttle is set appropriately. For cold starts, use the choke lever. During operation, maintain control of the machine at all times. To stop, release the drive and cylinder levers, move the throttle to 'SLOW', and turn the engine switch to 'OFF'.

Maintenance and Storage
Regular maintenance is vital for safety and performance. This includes keeping all nuts and bolts tight, checking the grass catcher for wear, and lubricating the height adjuster knob and front roller shaft. Never store the mower with fuel in the tank inside a building where vapours could reach a spark or flame. After use, clean the machine with a cloth; do not use a pressure washer.

Fault Diagnosis
If the mower fails to cut cleanly, check the cylinder-to-bottom-blade gap. If the engine fails to start, check for fuel, spark plug condition, and ensure the spark plug lead is connected. For persistent issues, such as excessive vibration or engine faults, contact your local Cobra dealer.
Disposal
When the machine reaches the end of its service life, do not dispose of it in domestic waste. Ensure it is recycled or disposed of in an environmentally safe manner according to local regulations.
