This document provides instructions for installing the Danfoss VHS cover on radiator sensors. It covers two mounting methods depending on the sensor type and provides technical specifications for electrostatic powder lacquering of the cover.
Installation
The installation method depends on the type of sensor:

- Danfoss snap-lock sensors: Simply press the cover onto the sensor until it clicks into place.
- Other sensor elements: Use the provided retaining spring to secure the cover onto the sensor as shown in the diagrams.
Electrostatic powder lacquering
If you intend to apply an electrostatic powder coating to the cover, follow these technical guidelines:
- Material: Black Noryl GTX 974.
- Pre-treatment: None required (material contains conductive components).
- Temperature: Maximum 180 °C for 10 minutes.
- Lacquer: Infralit PE/EP 8140 or similar.
- Moisture removal: Dry at 180 °C for 10 minutes before coating.
- Suspension: Fasten the cover from the inside.
- Layer thickness: Approximately 100 µ (similar to a radiator).
Troubleshooting
If you encounter an "orange peel" effect during the lacquering process, check for the following issues:
- Inadequate drying.
- Drying time is too short.
- Temperature is too low.

Common problems
Ensure adequate drying, increase drying time, or increase the temperature.
Before use
- Identify if your sensor is a snap-lock type or another model.
- If using a non-snap-lock sensor, ensure you have the retaining spring.
- For powder coating, ensure the cover is dry (dry at 180 °C for 10 minutes first).
