Quick guide from the manual
This document provides essential operating instructions for the FLEX RS 16 12-EC and RS 25 18-EC cordless one-handed reciprocating saws. These tools are designed for commercial use in industry and trade for cutting wood, plastic, and metal materials.
Device description
The saws feature a lock-off button, a pivoting shoe for control, a variable-speed trigger switch, a tool-less blade clamp sleeve, and an integrated LED work light.
Operation
Battery: Insert the charged battery until it clicks into place. Press the release button to remove it. Protect battery contacts when not in use to prevent short circuits.
Blade Installation: Lock the tool and remove the battery. Ensure the tool-less blade clamp sleeve is open. Align the saw blade shank with the clamp opening and insert it until it locks automatically. Pull the blade to verify it is secure. To remove, rotate the clamp sleeve to eject the blade.
Switching On/Off: Use the lock-off button to unlock the trigger. Press the variable-speed trigger switch to start the saw; higher pressure increases speed. Release the trigger to stop.
Cutting
General Cutting: Ensure the workpiece is firmly clamped. Mark the cut line clearly. For metal, apply cutting oil. Start the saw and reach maximum speed before applying the blade to the workpiece. Keep the shoe firmly against the workpiece during the cut.
Plunge Cutting: Ideal for surfaces without edges. Rest the edge of the pivoting shoe on the workpiece. With the blade just above the surface, start the tool and use the shoe edge as a pivot to lower the blade into the material.
Maintenance and care
Remove the battery before performing any work on the tool. Regularly clean the tool and the grille in front of the vent slots. Periodically blow out the housing interior and motor with dry compressed air.

- Select the correct blade for the material (e.g., 6 TPI for wood, 14 TPI for metal).
- Ensure the workpiece is firmly clamped.
- Check for clearance behind the workpiece.
Specs in practice
