Table of contents
Product Overview
The Fluke 15B+, 17B+, and 18B+ are 4000-count digital multimeters designed for reliable electrical measurements. These battery-powered instruments feature a digital display and offer various measurement capabilities including AC/DC voltage, current, resistance, continuity, diode testing, and capacitance. The 17B+ model includes additional features such as temperature measurement, MIN/MAX mode, and a hazardous voltage alert LED. The 18B+ model includes a dedicated LED test function.

Safety Information
Warning: To prevent electrical shock, fire, or personal injury, always disconnect power and discharge high-voltage capacitors before measuring resistance, continuity, capacitance, or diode junctions. When measuring current, remove circuit power before connecting the meter in series with the circuit. Always use specified replacement fuses and follow safe working practices.
Operation
The meters feature both manual and auto-ranging options. By default, the device uses auto-range mode. Users can switch to manual ranging by pressing the RANGE button. The Data Hold function allows freezing the current reading on the display. The 17B+ model supports relative measurements and MIN/MAX recording. The devices automatically power off after 20 minutes of inactivity to conserve battery life.
Maintenance
General maintenance involves wiping the case with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not use abrasives or solvents. Terminals should be kept clean to ensure accurate readings. If the battery indicator appears, replace the batteries immediately to avoid false readings. Only use specified replacement fuses. Before opening the case or battery door, always disconnect the test leads.
Troubleshooting and Disposal
If the product fails to operate, check the batteries and fuses first. A good A terminal fuse should read approximately 0.1 Ω, while a good mA/μA terminal fuse should read less than 10 kΩ. If the display shows OL, the fuse must be replaced. For disposal, remove non-integrated batteries and dispose of the device in an environmentally sound manner, ensuring any personal data is deleted.
