Table of contents
Product Overview
The Gastec 152L detector tube is designed for the detection of Methyl Ethyl Ketone in air or industrial environments. It provides a reliable method for monitoring gas concentrations within specified ranges.
Technical Specifications
- Measurement Range: 10-120 ppm (1 pump stroke) and 120-384 ppm (1/2 pump stroke).
- Sampling Time: 2 minutes for 1 stroke, 1 minute for 1/2 stroke.
- Detection Limit: 3 ppm (n=1).
- Color Change: Yellow to Reddish Purple.
- Operating Temperature: 0 to 40 °C (32 to 104 °F).
- Humidity: 0 to 90% relative humidity (no correction required).
Safety and Handling
Warning: Use only Gastec detector tubes with a Gastec gas sampling pump. Using non-original components can cause serious injury or death and voids all warranties. Do not touch broken glass or reagents with bare hands. When breaking tube ends, keep them away from eyes.
Measurement Procedure
- Check the pump for leaks before use.
- Break the tips of a new detector tube using the pump's tip breaker.
- Connect the tube to the pump with the arrow pointing toward the pump.
- Ensure the pump handle is fully pushed in and aligned.
- Pull the handle out until it locks (100 mL) and wait for the specified sampling time.
- Read the concentration at the interface of the stained and unstained reagent.
- Apply correction factors for temperature, pressure, or pump strokes if necessary.
Maintenance and Storage
Store tubes in a refrigerator at 10 °C (50 °F) or lower. Check the expiration date printed on the tube box. The reagent does not contain toxic substances, but disposal should follow local regulations.
Interferences
Some gases may interfere with the reading. Substances like Acetaldehyde, Acetone, Ethyl Acetate, Diethyl Ether, and Methanol may cause interference. Consult the provided interference table for specific details on how these substances affect the color change and reading accuracy.
