This manual provides essential operating and maintenance instructions for the Genie GS-1432m and GS-1932m scissor lifts. Operators must be trained and authorized before using this equipment. Always perform a pre-operation inspection and function test before each shift. The machine is designed for lifting personnel, tools, and materials to elevated work areas on firm, level surfaces.

Safety Guidelines

• General Safety: Never operate the machine unless you have read and understood the operator's manual and safety rules.
• Workplace Safety: Avoid hazards such as drop-offs, holes, bumps, debris, unstable surfaces, and overhead obstacles or power lines. Do not operate in strong or gusty winds.
• Battery Safety: Batteries contain acid. Wear protective clothing and goggles. Charge in a well-ventilated area away from sparks or flames.
• Fall Protection: Personal Fall Protection Equipment (PFPE) is not required for this machine unless mandated by site-specific rules.

Controls

The machine features both ground and platform control stations. The ground controls are primarily for maintenance and emergency rescue. The platform controls are used for daily operation, including lifting, driving, and steering.

Inspections

Before each shift, the operator must perform a pre-operation inspection, including checking hydraulic oil levels, battery connections, tires, and ensuring all safety decals are legible. A function test must also be performed to verify that all controls, emergency stops, and safety systems (such as the tilt sensor and pothole guards) are operating correctly.

Operating Instructions

• Emergency Stop: Press the red emergency stop button to cut power to all functions.
• Auxiliary Lowering: Use the auxiliary lowering button to lower the platform in an emergency.
• Lifting: Select the appropriate work zone (indoor/outdoor) and use the lift function button combined with the joystick.
• Driving: Use the drive function button and joystick. Speed is automatically limited when the platform is elevated.

Transport and Lifting

When transporting, ensure the machine is secured using the designated tie-down points. When hoisting, use only the provided lifting points on the chassis. Always ensure the platform is fully lowered and the extension deck is locked before transport.

Maintenance

Operators are responsible for routine maintenance, such as checking fluid levels and battery condition. All other scheduled maintenance must be performed by qualified service technicians. Use only Genie-approved replacement parts.
