Product Overview

The LANCOM 1800EF is a high-performance networking device designed for professional use. It features a robust synthetic housing suitable for desktop or wall-mounted installation. The device includes a quiet fan for cooling and a secure bayonet-style power connector to prevent accidental disconnection.

Setup and Installation

Before initial startup, ensure the power plug is freely accessible at all times. For desktop operation, attach the provided adhesive rubber footpads. Keep all ventilation slots on the sides of the device clear to prevent overheating. Do not place any objects on top of the device. For wall mounting, use the provided drilling template, or use the optional rack mount kit for installation in server racks.

Interfaces

• Ethernet (ETH 1-4): Four 10/100/1000 Mbps ports, configured as a switch by default. Up to three ports can be reconfigured as additional WAN ports.
• WAN: A 10/100/1000 Mbps Gigabit Ethernet port for modem connection.
• SFP: A socket for mini-GBIC transceivers, supporting optical connections.
• USB: A 2.0 Hi-Speed host port for printers, serial devices, or UMTS modems.
• Configuration: A dedicated USB-C interface for device management.

LED Indicators and Operation

The device features comprehensive LED status indicators for Power, Online, SFP, WAN, ETH, and VPN status. The Power LED provides feedback on device operation and cloud management status. The Reset button allows for device restarts (press up to 5 seconds) or a full configuration reset (press until all LEDs flash).

Technical Specifications

The device operates within a temperature range of 0 to 40 degrees Celsius and humidity levels between 0 and 95 percent. It supports various WAN protocols including PPPoE, Multi-PPPoE, ML-PPP, PPTP, and IPoE. The power supply is an external 12 V DC adapter.

Operate the device only with the supplied power adapter. Ensure the power source is professionally installed. Note that support for third-party accessories is excluded. The device contains open-source software components; license information is available via the device's WEBconfig interface.
