Quick guide from the manual

This guide covers the installation and operation of the Regalo Wall Safe Safety Gate. This is a pressure-mounted gate. Ensure the gap between the gate and the wall does not exceed 2.5 inches. A slight gap between the door latch and the frame is normal and will disappear once the gate is properly tightened.

Parts List

Ensure you have the following components before starting:

Positioning and tightening the gate
Positioning and tightening the gate
  1. Prepare Rods: Locate the 4 threaded spindle rods. Rotate the adjustment wheels to eliminate the gap between the wheel and the rubber foot.
  2. Insert Rods: Insert the rods into the holes at the four corners of the gate frame.
  3. Positioning: Place the gate in the doorway, ensuring it is level and centered. Rotate the adjustment wheels to expand the rods until they make contact with the wall. Do not fully tighten yet.
  4. Tightening: Fully tighten the lower rods first, then the upper rods. Stop tightening just before the outer housing of the secure slide latch and the receiving component touch.

Operating the Door Latch

To open the gate, push one or both circular buttons on the secure slide latch while pulling back. The gate will open freely. To close, push or pull the door back into its original position; the latch will re-engage automatically.

Base Locks: Located at the bottom of the gate door. Rotate to the horizontal position to set the swing direction. Rotate on one side for one-way opening, or both sides for two-way opening. Always place the lock on the side occupied by the child.

Positioning and Attaching Wall Shields

For added stability, use the included Wall Shields:

  1. After mounting the gate, mark the perimeter of the 4 rubber feet on the wall.
  2. Remove the gate.
  3. Center the Wall Shields within the marked circles and fasten them to the wall using the provided self-tapping screws.
  4. Reinstall the gate, using the Wall Shields as anchoring points for the spindle rods.

Care and Maintenance

Periodically check the gate for damage, wear, or missing components. Do not use if any part is damaged. Clean by sponging with warm water and a mild detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners or bleach.

Safety Warnings

  • Never use more than two extensions per side.
  • If mounting to a surface other than drywall or wood, consult a professional.
  • Never use at the top of stairs.
  • Never use to keep a child away from a pool.
  • Stop using when a child can climb over or dislodge the gate.
