Product Overview

The Rokinon Series II 14mm F2.8 is a high-performance ultra-wide angle prime lens designed for full-frame coverage. It features 14 elements in 10 groups, including specialized Hybrid Aspherical, HRI, ASP, and ED elements with UMC anti-reflective coatings for superior image clarity. The lens is built for versatility, offering weather sealing to protect against dust and moisture, and a nine-blade circular iris for smooth bokeh.

Installation and Handling

To attach the lens, remove the rear lens cap and the camera body cap. Align the index mark on the lens barrel with the camera mount and rotate clockwise until it clicks into place. For Nikon mounts, rotate counter-clockwise. To detach, hold the lens release button on the camera body and rotate the lens in the opposite direction of mounting. Always ensure the camera is turned off before attaching or detaching the lens.

Focusing and Aperture Control

The lens features a manual focus ring with a focus lock mechanism. To lock the ring, turn the indicator line counter-clockwise to the Lock mark. The lens also includes an Aperture De-click switch, which allows users to toggle between a clicked aperture (1/3 stop increments) and a smooth, de-clicked mode ideal for video recording. Note that for Nikon cameras, specific procedures must be followed to use the de-clicked mode, including setting the aperture ring to F22 and using the camera's manual exposure mode.

Safety and Maintenance

Avoid looking directly at the sun through the lens to prevent vision impairment. Protect the lens from water, high humidity, and extreme heat. When moving between environments with drastic temperature changes, place the lens in a sealed plastic bag to prevent condensation. Clean the lens surface by first using a blower to remove dust, then gently wipe with a microfiber cloth and a small amount of lens cleaner if necessary.
