Quick guide from the manual

This document provides essential operating and safety instructions for the SKIL 12V Brushless Impact Wrench (Model IW6744A-00). Always read the full manual before use. Key safety requirements include wearing eye protection, keeping the work area well-lit, and removing the battery pack before performing any adjustments, cleaning, or maintenance.

Getting to know your impact wrench

The tool features a variable-speed trigger, a direction-of-rotation selector (forward/center-lock/reverse), an LED light with adjustable brightness, a mode button for selecting work modes, and a 3/8-inch square drive.

Operating instructions

Battery pack: To attach, align the rib on the battery pack with the groove on the tool and slide it on until it snaps. To detach, press the battery-release button and pull the pack out. Always lock the rotation selector in the center position when the tool is not in use.

Work modes: When in reverse, you can toggle between four modes: Low-Speed, Medium-Speed, High-Speed, and Reverse Control Mode. Reverse Control Mode automatically stops the tool once a bolt or nut is loose to prevent it from falling.

Socket installation: Align the square of the impact socket with the square drive and push until it locks. Use protective gloves when removing the socket, as it may be hot after use.

Maintenance and troubleshooting

Keep the tool clean using compressed dry air, ensuring ventilation openings are free of debris. Do not use harsh solvents. If the tool does not work, check if the battery is charged, properly installed, or if the tool is overloaded/overheated. If the LED light flashes rapidly, the tool is overloaded or too hot; release the trigger and allow it to cool.
