Quick guide from the manual
This heating pad features an auto-off function that turns the unit off after two hours of continuous use. A built-in safety feature prevents the pad from being turned on immediately after the auto-off function has activated; you must wait at least 1 minute before turning the heating pad back on. Always inspect the pad, cord, and controller for damage before use.
Important safety instructions
- Do not use while sleeping.
- Do not use on an infant or on an animal.
- Do not use on persons with diabetes, poor blood circulation, or insensitive skin.
- Do not use with liniment, salve, or ointment preparations, especially those containing heat-producing ingredients, as skin burns could result.
- Do not use pins or other metallic means to fasten the pad in place.
- Do not sit on, against, or crush the pad; avoid sharp folds.
- Never pull the pad by the supply cord or use the cord as a handle.
- Do not use in an oxygen atmosphere.
- Always use the pad with the removable cover in place.
Setup and operation
To prepare the heating pad for use:

- Lay the cloth cover on a flat surface with the printing face up and open the snap at the bottom.
- Insert the pad into the cover, fitting one side at a time, ensuring the cord and control remain on the outside.
- The pad should lie flat inside the cover. Close the snap.
- Plug the unit into a 110-120 volt AC electrical outlet and set the control to the desired heat level.
Using gel packs
For models equipped with gel packs, follow these guidelines:
- Hot (Red) Gel Pack: Remove the pack from the pad. Place in the microwave and heat at full power (700 Watts) for one minute. Ensure the gel is spread evenly. If not hot enough, heat in 10-second intervals. Never heat for more than 90 seconds at one time. Never boil the gel pack.
- Cold (Blue) Gel Pack: Follow the specific instructions printed on the gel pack.
- Safety: Gel packs must be enclosed in the cover when used with the heating pad.
Moist heat option
If your model includes a sponge for moist heat:
- Run warm water over the sponge until thoroughly saturated.
- Gently wring out excess water.
- Place the sponge on top of the heating pad and slip the cloth cover over the pad.
- Snap the cover closed.
- Danger: Do not immerse the pad in water or place under running water to dampen the surface.
Maintenance and cleaning
To clean the fabric cover:
- Disconnect the pad from the outlet.
- Remove the cover from the pad.
- Machine or hand wash using mild detergent and cool water.
- Hang to dry or machine dry on a gentle, cool cycle.
Troubleshooting
If you experience issues with your heating pad, try the following steps:
- No Heat/No Power: Unplug the unit from the wall outlet. Verify there is no physical damage to the cord, controller, or pad. Ensure the AC outlet is functional. Restart the unit by sliding the control to the OFF position, then back to the desired heat level.
- Control Shuts Off: The auto-off feature turns the unit off after two hours. Restart the unit by sliding the control to the OFF position, then back to the desired heat level.
- Pad Doesn't Get Hot Enough: Ensure the pad is not folded or bunched up in any area. Restart the unit by sliding the control to the OFF position, then back to the desired heat level.
