This document provides essential instructions for the safe operation and maintenance of the Tower Odyssey 1.7L 3KW Jug Kettle. Before first use, it is recommended to perform several boiling cycles with clean water to ensure the appliance is ready for normal use. Always ensure the kettle is filled with at least 0.5L of water to prevent boil-dry protection activation.

Product Overview

The kettle consists of the following main components:

• Spout with filter: For pouring and preventing lime-scale.
• Lid: Opens for filling.
• Water gauge: Indicates water level.
• Cool touch handle: For safe handling.
• ON/OFF switch: Located under the handle.
• Base: Power connection unit.

Using Your Appliance

1. Fill the kettle using the spout or lid. It is recommended to fill to at least the 0.5L mark.
2. Ensure the lid is closed correctly and the base unit is dry.
3. Place the kettle on the base and plug it in.
4. Press the ON/OFF switch down to the On position. A blue light will illuminate inside.
5. The switch will automatically return to the OFF position when boiling is finished.
6. To stop the process manually, push the ON/OFF switch up to the off position.

Note: If you need to re-boil immediately, wait approximately 20 seconds for the switch to reset.

Safety Information

Always observe the following safety precautions:

• Do not touch any part of the kettle except the handle while in use.
• Ensure the lid is properly closed during operation.
• Never remove the lid while the water is boiling.
• Do not use the kettle if the supply cord or appliance is damaged.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular maintenance is required to keep the kettle in good condition:

• Cleaning the outside: Wipe with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the base or kettle in water. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
• De-scaling: If the kettle switches off before boiling, it likely needs de-scaling. Use a regular de-scaling agent or a natural mixture of equal parts water and vinegar. Boil the mixture, let it stand for 30-40 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.
• Filter: Rinse the removable filter under the tap regularly to prevent lime-scale build-up.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues, check the following:

• Kettle won't switch on: Ensure it is connected to power, has at least 0.5L of water, and the boil-dry protection has had time to reset (wait 15 minutes).
• Kettle won't switch off: De-scale the unit or ensure the lid is firmly shut.
• Water leaking from spout: Do not overfill and wait 10 seconds after boiling before pouring.
• Water droplets on base: This is normal condensation.
