Quick guide from the manual

The Waring Commercial 10-Tray Food Dehydrator is designed for professional food preservation. Before first use, wash all trays in warm, soapy water and wipe the base with a clean, dry cloth. Ensure the unit is placed on a flat surface with at least 3 feet of clearance from walls to allow for proper air circulation. Do not block the intake holes in the back or the exhaust vent above the door.

  1. Plug the unit into a standard 120V wall outlet.
  2. Press the POWER ON/OFF button to turn the machine on.
  3. Use the plus and minus arrows below the temperature display to set the desired temperature (90°F–180°F / 32°C–82°C).
  4. Use the plus and minus arrows below the timer display to set the drying time (up to 99 hours).
  5. Press START to begin the cycle.

Food Preparation and Treatment

Vegetables: Blanching is recommended to destroy enzymes that cause off-flavors. Steam blanching is preferred over water blanching to retain vitamins and flavor. Microwave blanching is also an option.

Fruits: Wash and remove bruised parts. Pretreatment (such as dipping in lemon juice or sodium bisulfite) is recommended for fruits that brown easily, like apples, apricots, peaches, and pears.

Nuts: Shell and rinse with warm water. Dehydrate for 20–30 hours until brittle.

Herbs and Flowers: Rinse and pat dry. Dehydrate for 2–7 hours. If dehydrating flowers and herbs simultaneously, place flowers on the bottom trays and herbs on the top trays to prevent debris from falling.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Ensure the unit is OFF, unplugged, and cool before cleaning. The trays are dishwasher safe; pre-soak if necessary to remove stubborn food residue. Wipe the housing and door with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly.

Food Storage

Pack dried foods in airtight containers or plastic freezer bags, squeezing out as much air as possible. Store in a cool, dark place. Refrigeration or freezing will significantly extend shelf life.
