Quick guide from the manual
This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and proper use of the Bosch EasyGrassCut 18V-230, 18V-26, and 18V-260 cordless grass trimmers. Before use, ensure you are familiar with the controls and safety warnings. Always wear eye and ear protection, and do not operate the trimmer in the rain.
Assembly
- Connect the shaft: Remove the transport safety (9) and join the shaft parts until they click into place. Note that once assembled, the shaft cannot be disassembled.
- Handle adjustment: Press the buttons (7) to adjust the handle (1) to your preferred position.
- Protection guard: Pull the plant protection frame to the storage position, mount the guard (8) on the trimmer head, and secure it with the provided screw. Finally, pull the plant protection frame to the working position.
Operation
To switch on, press the lock-off button (3) and then the On/Off switch (4). Release the switch to turn off. To switch between lawn trimming and edge cutting, turn the handle 180° against the shaft and release the button (2) to lock the mechanism.
Battery Charging
The battery is supplied partially charged. Charge it fully in the charger before first use. The charger features intelligent temperature monitoring to ensure optimal charging. The battery can be charged at any time without reducing its service life.
Maintenance and Cleaning
Always remove the battery before performing maintenance. Regularly clean the trimmer and check for damaged parts. If the cutting line breaks or needs replacing, remove the spool cover (11), remove the empty spool (12), wind new line (approx. 4.0m) onto the spool, and reassemble.
Troubleshooting
If the motor does not start, check if the battery is charged or if it is too hot/cold. If the trimmer vibrates heavily, the cutting line may be broken or the cutting system damaged; check the spool and line-feed button for grass debris.
