This document provides essential safety and operational instructions for Bosch 18V lithium-ion batteries within the POWER FOR ALL system. Always follow the battery recommendations found in the operating manual of your specific power tool to ensure safe operation and prevent hazardous overloading.

Safety instructions

• These instructions apply exclusively to 18V Bosch Li-ion batteries for the POWER FOR ALL system.
• Use the battery only in products from POWER FOR ALL system partners.
• Charging: Only use chargers recommended by the manufacturer or POWER FOR ALL system partners. Using an incompatible charger poses a fire risk.
• Handling: Do not open the battery (risk of short-circuit). If damaged or used incorrectly, vapours may be emitted; ensure good ventilation and seek medical attention if needed.
• Liquid leakage: If the battery is damaged, flammable liquid may leak. Avoid contact. If contact occurs, rinse with water and seek medical attention if the liquid touches your eyes.
• Protection: Protect the battery from heat, continuous intense sunlight, fire, dirt, water, and moisture (risk of explosion and short-circuit).

Operation and storage

• Temperature range: Operate and store the battery only at ambient temperatures between -20 °C and +50 °C. Do not leave the battery in a car during summer.
• Charging temperature: Charge the battery only at ambient temperatures between 0 °C and +35 °C. If the battery has a USB port, charge it via that port only between +10 °C and +35 °C.
• Initial use: The battery is supplied partially charged. Fully charge it in the charger before the first use to ensure full capacity.

Maintenance and cleaning

• Occasionally clean the battery's ventilation slots and terminals using a soft, clean, and dry brush.
• Do not use any chemical substances for cleaning.

Transport

• Lithium-ion batteries are subject to Dangerous Goods Legislation. Users can transport them by road without further restrictions.
• When shipping via third parties (e.g., air transport or forwarding agency), special packaging and labelling requirements apply. Consult a hazardous material expert when preparing the item for shipment.
• Only ship if the housing is undamaged. Tape off open contacts and pack the battery so it cannot move in the packaging.

Disposal

Do not dispose of batteries with household waste. Batteries and packaging should be sorted for environmentally friendly recycling in accordance with local regulations and EU Directive 2006/66/EC.
