Quick guide from the manual

The Bosch AdvancedShear 18V-10 is a cordless tool designed for light trimming of shrubs and lawn edges. Key safety conditions include keeping hands and feet away from the blades, wearing protective gear (safety glasses and sturdy footwear), and removing the battery before any maintenance, cleaning, or blade changes. Do not use the tool in rain or during thunderstorms.

Device Description

The tool features a lock-off button for the on/off switch, an LED indicator for the lock-off status, and interchangeable blade attachments (grass shear blade and shrub shear blade). It is powered by an 18V battery.

Assembly and Blade Attachment

To change the blade attachment, press the release button (4) and pull the current blade attachment (3)/(6) downward. Mount the desired blade attachment by sliding it into place until it clicks. Always use the blade cover when changing attachments.

Operation

To switch the tool on, press and hold the lock-off button (1) and then actuate the on/off switch (5). Release the lock-off button. When the on/off switch is actuated, the LED lights up green. For shrub trimming, move the tool steadily along the line of cut. For lawn edges, guide the tool along the edge of the lawn, avoiding contact with paved paths, stones, or walls to protect the blade.

Maintenance and Service

Always remove the battery before any work on the tool. Keep the tool and ventilation slots clean. Never spray the tool with water or immerse it in water. Store in a secure, dry place out of reach of children. Periodically clean the battery venting slots with a soft, clean, and dry brush.

Battery Care

Protect the battery from moisture and water. Store the battery separately from the tool within a temperature range of -20 °C to 50 °C. Do not leave the battery in the tool in direct sunlight. The ideal storage temperature is 5 °C.
