Quick guide from the manual

This document provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation of the Bosch GHE 18V-50 (II) and 18V-60 (II) cordless hedgecutters. Always ensure the battery is removed before performing any maintenance or adjustments.

Operation

To start the hedgecutter, insert the battery until you hear a click. Simultaneously press the front switch (3) and the switch on the rear handle (2). To stop the tool, release either switch or both.

Working Advice

Move the hedgecutter evenly along the cutting line. The double-sided blade allows for cutting in both directions or with a side-to-side motion. For straight sides, cut in the direction of growth from bottom to top. To achieve a level top, use a guide string.

Anti-Blocking Mechanism

If the blade stalls on tough material, the motor load increases. The intelligent micro-electronics will repeatedly reverse the motor to prevent stalling and cut through the branch. This audible reversing action lasts up to 15 rounds. If the overload persists, the blades will automatically stop in the open position.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Always remove the battery before any work on the tool. Keep the tool clean for safe operation. After use, clean the hedgecutter with a damp cloth and apply BOSCH lubricant spray to the blades. Clean the area around the front hand guard with a soft cloth or brush.

Troubleshooting

If the hedgecutter does not operate, check if the battery is discharged or not fully connected. If it operates intermittently, there may be an internal wiring fault or a defective switch; contact customer service. If the blades become hot, they may be blunt, have dents, or require lubrication.
