Operation

To start the hedgecutter, insert the battery until it clicks, then simultaneously press the front switch (3) and the rear handle switch (2). To stop the tool, release either switch or both.

Working with the hedgecutter

  • Move the tool evenly forward along the cutting line.
  • The double-edge blade allows cutting in either direction or with a side-to-side motion.
  • Cut the sides of the hedge first, then the top.
  • For straight sides, cut from bottom to top in the direction of growth.
  • Use a string guide to achieve a level finish on the top of the hedge.

Anti-Blocking Function

If the blade stalls on tough material, the motor load increases. The tool's micro-electronics will repeatedly reverse the motor to clear the obstruction. This action lasts up to 15 rounds. If the overload persists, the blades will stop in the open position.

Maintenance and Cleaning

  • Always remove the battery before performing any maintenance, cleaning, or transport.
  • Clean the tool with a damp cloth and apply Bosch lubricant spray to the blades after use.
  • Keep the area around the front hand guard clean.
  • Do not attempt to repair the tool or battery yourself; contact a Bosch service agent.

Battery Care

  • Protect the battery from moisture, water, and heat.
  • Store the battery within the temperature range of -20°C to 50°C.
  • Clean ventilation slots occasionally with a soft, clean, dry brush.
  • A significantly reduced operating time after charging indicates the battery is at the end of its life and must be replaced.
