The Bosch GDS 18V-400 is a cordless impact wrench designed for driving and loosening screws and bolts, as well as tightening and loosening nuts. Key features include the Auto Bolt Release (ABR) function, which automatically stops the tool when a nut is loosened to prevent it from falling.
Device Description
The tool features a tool holder (1), a belt clip (3), a battery release button (5), an ABR activation button (6) with an LED indicator (7), a rotational direction switch (8), an on/off switch (9), and a PowerLight (10).
Assembly
Always remove the battery before performing any maintenance, changing tools, or transporting/storing the device to prevent accidental activation. Slide the charged battery (4) into the base of the tool until it locks securely. To change a tool, slide the application tool (12) onto the square drive of the tool holder (1) and secure it with a locking pin.
Operation
The tool is driven by an electric motor via a gear and impact mechanism. The working procedure consists of two phases: screwing in and tightening. The impact mechanism activates when the screw connection becomes tight and the motor is under load. To activate or deactivate the ABR function, press the ABR button (6). The ABR LED (7) lights up when active.
Maintenance and Cleaning
Regularly clean the air vents to prevent metal dust accumulation, which can cause electrical hazards. Always remove the battery before cleaning or maintenance.
Troubleshooting
If the battery charge indicator does not light up after pressing the button, the battery is defective and must be replaced. If the tool stops automatically, do not continue to press the on/off switch, as this may damage the battery.
