Device Description

The GKE 18V-25 TP is a cordless telescopic pruner designed for pruning trees at height while the user remains on the ground. It is not intended for felling trees or cutting inorganic materials.

Assembly and Setup

  1. Assembly: Connect the pruner head and telescopic handle until the locking button (10) clicks. Secure by tightening the wing bolt (9).
  2. Shoulder Strap: Attach the shoulder strap (18) to the loops (22)/(23). Ensure the larger hook (16) is on the rear handle loop (23) and the smaller hook (19) is on the front handle loop (22).
  3. Chain and Bar: Place the pruner on a flat surface with the cover (27) facing up. Remove the cover (27) by unscrewing the fastening nut (28). Position the saw chain (6) around the drive sprocket (1) and over the chain bar (5). Replace the cover and tighten the nut (28) slightly. Use the assembly tool (26) to turn the chain tensioning screw (2) until the chain is correctly tensioned (can be lifted 3-4 mm from the bar). Tighten the fastening nut (28) securely.

Operation

Filling the Oil Reservoir: The pruner is not supplied filled with oil. Fill the reservoir with Bosch biodegradable chain saw oil (Part number: F 016 800 642) before use. Operating without oil will damage the chain and bar.

Switching On/Off: To switch on, slide the lock-off button (15) forward. Place your palm on the user presence switch (14) and press the On/Off switch (24). Keep both pressed during operation. To switch off, release both switches.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Keep the tool and ventilation slots clean. Use a stiff brush to remove debris.
  • Chain Maintenance: Regularly check the chain tension and sharpness. If blunt, replace or have it professionally sharpened.
  • Storage: Always remove the battery and fit the chain guard (8) when not in use. Empty the oil reservoir before long-term storage.
