This guide provides essential information for the Bosch EasyGrassCut 18V-230, 18V-26, and 18V-260 string trimmers. Always ensure the battery is removed before performing any maintenance, adjustments, or cleaning.
Assembly and Operation
Follow these steps to prepare your trimmer:
- Shaft Assembly: Remove the transport safety (9) and connect the shaft parts until they click into place. Note: Once assembled, the shaft cannot be disassembled.
- Handle Adjustment: Press the buttons (7) to adjust the handle (1) to your preferred position.
- Protection Guard: Move the plant protection frame to the storage position, attach the guard (8) with the provided screw, and then move the frame to the working position.
Operation
To switch on, press the lock-off button (3) followed by the On/Off switch (4). Release the switch to turn off. To switch between trimming and edge cutting, rotate the handle 180° against the shaft until the mechanism clicks into place.
Battery Charging
The battery is equipped with temperature monitoring (0°C to 35°C). Insert the battery (6) into the charger (10). The charging status is indicated by the LED on the charger. A solid green light indicates a full charge.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting
If the trimmer vibrates heavily or fails to cut, check the cutting line. If the line is broken or too short, use the manual feed button (15) to pull out more line. If the motor does not start, check if the battery is charged or if it is too hot/cold.
Safety
Always wear eye and ear protection. Keep bystanders at a safe distance. Do not use the trimmer in the rain. Regularly inspect the area for wildlife and pets before trimming.

Motor does not start
Check if the battery is discharged or if it is too hot/cold. Recharge or allow to reach operating temperature.
Trimmer vibrates heavily
Check if the cutting line is broken, the cutting system is damaged, or if grass is stuck between the spool housing and the feed button.
Cutting line does not feed
Check if the spool is empty or if the line is tangled inside the spool. Refill or rewind the spool.

- Ensure the protection guard is correctly mounted.
- Check the area for stones, wires, and other foreign objects.
- Ensure the battery is fully charged.
- Check that the cutting line is not tangled.
- Wear eye and ear protection.
