Quick guide from the manual

The Bosch GardenPump 18 is designed for pumping rainwater from a water tank to irrigate flower beds, lawns, and vegetable beds. It can also be used for minor cleaning tasks. The system consists of a pump, a battery control unit, and a battery.

Installation and Setup

1. Mounting the Control Unit: Fasten the wall attachment or water tank attachment in a shaded spot. The control unit is equipped with a thermal circuit and will switch off if it gets too hot.

2. Determining Cable and Hose Length: Position the pump approximately 50 mm above the base of the tank to avoid sediment. Calculate the required cable length (L1 = H + D + E – 250 mm) and hose length (L2 = H – 130 mm).

3. Assembly: Wrap excess cable around the pump and secure it with the cable clamp. Cut the connecting hose to the calculated length and attach the anti-siphon connector. Connect the 2-pin plug to the control unit and secure the union nut. Attach the universal connector to the pump.

Operation

Switching On/Off: Press the On/Off switch. The battery charge indicator will light up.

Timer Function: While the pump is on, press the timer button. Each press increases the running time by 5 minutes, up to a maximum of 15 minutes. The selected time is indicated by the timer LED.

Dry-Run Protection: The pump automatically switches off if no more water can be pumped.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Filter: Regularly inspect and clean the filter located at the bottom of the pump. Pull it off downwards, clean under running water, and reattach.

Anti-Siphon Connector: If blocked, remove the cap and ball, clean under running water, and reassemble.

Winter Storage: Remove the pump from the water tank, disconnect the cable and hose, drain all water, clean the exterior, and store in a frost-free environment.

Troubleshooting

If the warning triangle flashes red, the battery is too hot or cold. If it flashes yellow, the dry-run protection is activated; reposition the pump so it is fully submerged.
