The Bosch GDE 18V-16 Professional is a dust extraction attachment designed for collecting drilling dust when drilling in concrete, brick, stone, ceramic, and tiles. It is compatible with specific Bosch rotary hammers (GBH 18V-24 C, GBH 187-LI, GBH 18V-26, GBH 18V-26 F, GBH 18V-28 C, GBH 18V-28 CF). Never use the attachment without the HEPA filter installed.
Assembly
To attach the dust extraction unit to the rotary hammer:

- Align the guide groove (11) of the rotary hammer with the housing guide (9) of the dust extraction attachment.
- Slide the attachment onto the rotary hammer until it audibly engages.
- To remove, press and hold the release button (8) and pull the attachment off the rotary hammer.
Operation



Inserting/removing the drill bit
- Press the drill length adjustment button (5) and pull the guide (4) out to the stop.
- Slide the drill bit tip from the back through the dust eye (2) and insert it into the drill chuck according to the power tool's instructions.
- Before removing the drill bit, press button (5) again and pull the guide (4) out to the stop.
Adjusting guide length and drilling depth
- Guide length: Adjust the guide (4) so that the drill bit tip is flush with the front of the dust eye (1)/(2).
- Drilling depth: Press the depth stop adjustment button (3) and slide it on the guide (4) until the distance X matches your required drilling depth.
Changing the dust cap
Change the dust cap (1 or 2) depending on the drill chuck type and drilling diameter (4-16 mm). Replace the dust cap if the wall contact surface shows clear signs of wear to prevent dust leakage.
Maintenance and cleaning
Empty the dust box (13) regularly and after finishing work to maintain optimal suction. Use the viewing window (7) to check the fill level.
- Hold the tool horizontally and run it for a few seconds to suck residual dust into the box.
- Press the release buttons (6) to remove the dust box.
- Remove the HEPA filter (14) and tap it out or brush it with a soft brush. Do not clean with water or compressed air.
- Shake out the dust box over a waste bin.
Safety
Do not process metallic materials with the dust extraction attachment fitted, as hot metal chips can ignite the dust container. Always wear ear protection and a dust mask during maintenance.
